Assessment for Learning
As the Key Stage Three Strategy evolved into the National Secondary Strategy, it produced guidance on a range of whole-school development issues which were all intended to help to raise standards of achievement. Assessment for Learning was an integral part of this drive, generic materials and training preceded the subject-specific resources featured here.
Also included in this collection is a guidance document from QCA on Assessment for Learning at Key Stages One, Two and Three, which aimed to provide information about using the following techniques:
• involving pupils in assessing their own performance;
• setting learning goals for pupils and sharing these with them;
• using effective questioning techniques to assess and further pupils’ learning;
• using marking and feedback strategies to inform pupils about their progress.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment.
Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date.
Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work.
Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
