Ginn Science guidance for teachers includes one general user guide for the whole programme and a Ginn Science INSET (IN-SErvice Training for teachers) guide. The user guide was published in 1996, after eight years of the project development, during which time a considerable number of resources for teachers and students had been produced. It provides an overview of the materials available at that time. It also provides schools with help in developing a scheme of work for science. The INSET guide, published in 1990, was produced to provide help for those in school wishing to introduce colleagues to Ginn Science. It comprises three sessions of activities in which the session leader is supported by the provision of comprehensive notes and a series of blackline masters which can either be made into overhead transparencies or photocopied to make handouts.

HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
