The 2006 STEM Programme Report led to a significant government investment in STEM education, the STEM Programme.
A key part of this Programme was to bring together industry and education to provide high quality careers education, information, advice and guidance for STEM subjects. This work comprised several strands, including a communication campaign, production of careers resources, and academic research.

Full details of the STEM Programme careers project may be found here.

The materials in this collection support the work of teachers, careers and personal advisers, by illustrating how pursuing STEM subjects can open up fulfilling and highly paid career paths.

The resources have been developed for the Department for Education by the Centre for Science Education (CSE) at Sheffield Hallam University and Babcock, together with the Science Council (FutureMorph); the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) (Maths Careers); and the Centre for Education and Industry (CEI) at the University of Warwick, the International Centre for Guidance Studies at the University of Derby and Isinglass Consultancy (Timeline Project).

HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
