DNA
These animations, from the Wellcome Trust, explore DNA structure, function and analysis. They explain the biological processes that transcribe and translate the genetic code to produce proteins. Animations also illustrate how the processes used to sequence DNA have developed to allow genomes to be analysed at a much faster rate than in the past.
The animations contain quite a high level of detail and are more suited to students following post-16 biology courses. They may, however, be suitable for some younger students as an extension to their learning.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment.
Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date.
Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work.
Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
