The cards originally formed a complete individualised mathematics scheme. They were organised so that each student followed their own path through the work which was recorded on a matrix. This collection contains all the cards organised into groups by number. The Activity list identifies the topic and the card number. The Network is to assist with planning and recording progress. Many of the topics on the cards are also available in the Wealth of Worksheets collection.
Activity List: Cards 0001-2403
All the cards from Smile mathematics are listed numerically in this file. The list gives the number of the card, name of the topic, the attainment target and the appropriate level.
SMILE Cards 1-719
The mathematics of area and reflection are covered using of tangrams in file one as are number puzzles, angles in triangles and quadrilaterals. Multiplication using Napiers rods, isometric drawing, time distance graphs.
SMILE Cards 720-1600
The difference of two squares is approached in a visual and stimulating way in file one as is solving linear equations. Games such as monopoly are used to instigate thinking about fairness and probability.

Smile Mathematics Networks
The 2001 Smile Network reflects the Mathematics National Curriculum 2000 and the KS 3 Framework for Teaching Mathematics. The Network is intended to assist teachers in planning and recording a scheme of work.
