Teaching Medical Physics
The Institute of Physics's Medical Physics Group has produced a set of teaching materials which can be used to teach medical physics at GCSE/Standard level in schools.
Three PowerPoint lessons are available on ultrasound, the electromagnetic spectrum and radioactivity. The presentations can be used as free-standing lessons at GCSE level. Parts of the presentations may be used at A level or earlier for topics such as the Doppler effect, radiation safety or waves.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
