Equality and Diversity
Produced by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), these case studies describe work done by practitioners to promote and enhance equality and diversity for learners across STEM subjects. These projects, drawn from organisations across the FE and skills sector, show a wide range of approaches to tackling both gender issues and engaging less motivated learners, including:
• Peer-mentoring amongst learners
• Tailored, relevant resources
• Using interactive technology
• Different learning styles
• Employer engagement.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
