CREST Challenges
These resources are designed to help teachers and students undertake CREST awards that relate to the work of Practical Action, a UK-based charity that uses engineering solutions to help communities in the developing world.
In tackling the activities, students will gain a greater understanding of the issues around sustainable development as well as look at particular design and technology challenges. The materials include information on topics including:
• Energy production and distribution
• Food production and storage
• Providing sustainable houses
• Suitable transport
• Water
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
