BLOODHOUND SSC are attempting to break the landspeed record using a rocket-powered vehicle. Their mission is to confront and overcome the impossible using science, technology, engineering and mathematics. These educational resources aim to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.

Primary educational resources include:
• Making a balloon-powered car
• Investigating the hardness of materials
• Design your own Bloodhound SSC rocket car

Secondary topics include:
• Investigating the hardness of materials
• Centre of gravity
• Frames, structures and forces
• Speed of sound
• Motion
• Build a rocket car
• Systems and controls
• Measuring thrust
• Understanding wheels

HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
