Activity Case Study 6: Andrew Keen
In this STEMNET activity case study, Graduate Engineer Andrew Keen describes a 'real life' project that he designed for sixth formers which involved developing an engine component. The Fuel Systems Team of his company was so impressed with the project that it is now working on a prototype component.
Andrew has found that being a STEM Ambassador has helped him gain team leading, people management and mentoring skills which help with his own career development.
"It was a real life experience for the students. They were really enthusiastic – and gained a heck of an appreciation of a diesel engine! They also developed a range of project management skills to complement their studies.”
