Nuffield Advanced Chemistry (Fourth Edition): Chemical Engineering
The Chemical Engineering Special Study was revised and updated for the Fourth Edition of Nuffield Advanced Chemistry. All the theory was explained in the Students’ Book. The experiments were described in a separate file. The Teachers’ and Technicians’ Guide provided the technical information for setting up the practical work together with answers to the questions about the experiments. In addition the web pages of the Re:act web site provided a study guide for each chapter to help students work independently.
Contents of the Students’ Book
Chapter 1 The chemical industry page
Chapter 2 Unit operations
Chapter 3 Transport of materials
Chapter 4 Energy transfer
Chapter 5 The chemical reactor
Chapter 6 Separation
Chapter 7 Developing a process
Glossary

HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment.
Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date.
Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work.
Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
