Virtual Maths
The Virtual Maths project, funded by a Leeds Metropolitan University Teaching Quality Enhancement Fund, makes maths more accessible with visual demonstrations of real mathematical problems within the context of the construction industry. With the aid of sound and vision, maths is brought to life with real working construction problems and scenarios.
Virtual Maths interactive resources are provided to encourage innovative teaching and learning of functional mathematics, using links to real life problems, animation and graphics. The maths problems shown are supported by questions and formative feedback ensuring that users can play and learn at their leisure, gaining visual, audio and text based feedback.
In February 2011, Virtual Maths won the Be2Award for Best Education and Learning Project.
