The Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) have produced a range of materials called 'Mathematical Moments' aimed at supporting teaching and learning in Mathematics. The resources were developed for use with post-16 learners though are appropriate for use with students from key stage two. They have been produced to encourage active learning and follow on from extensive research and pilot studies.

Each Mathematical Moment considers a particular mathematical topic and offers suggestions for learner activities. They also offer opportunities and prompts for reflection on teaching and learning practice.

HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
