Royal Armouries
The Royal Armouries is home to the United Kingdom’s national collection of arms and armour, including artillery. As a museum they have a duty of care for these objects, to keep them, study them and increase knowledge of them, so that this can be passed to future generations along with the objects themselves.
The Royal Armouries is an ideal venue to study practical applications of mathematics. The resources in this collection were designed by Linda Aikett from King James School, Knaresborough and Ruth Holland and Hazel Kendrick from ‘More Maths Grads’ at the University of Leeds with the Royal Armouries.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
