Year Four Teaching Sequences
These nine teaching sequences, produced by the Hamilton Trust, deal with progression in place value, multiplication facts, using decimal notation for tenths and hundreths, rounding and ordering four digit numbers.
An overview of progression in learning for the sequence is given, as are prerequisites, objectives and misconceptions that some students might have.
The sequences have activities for the whole class, small groups and individuals. Key questions are highlighted in each of the activities, as are relevant resources.
