In this lesson plan and associated presentation from CensusAtSchool, students are asked to remember how many frogs are on a slide when they have only had a few seconds to look at this. A student who has not been present is then asked to question the students about how many frogs were on the slide. Students will learn to understand and find simple means, modes and medians, calculate statistics from discrete and grouped data and have some idea of their interpretation. They will also consider how the sample size effects the data.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
