Chapter 7 Using Spreadsheets
This chapter in the booklet Relevant and Engaging Statistics and Data Handling from the Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education (RSSCSE) addresses how spreadsheet software such as Excel is used to analyse and present data. However, it can appear very easy to analyse data and produce charts and diagrams in a spreadsheet, but very often the default ones produced are not the best ones, and some are even wrong. This chapter offers some dos and don’ts when using spreadsheet software, and goes through some worked examples that can help produce a correct statistic or graph.
