Median and Quartiles
This animation from Subtangent offers a visual representation of median heights.
Students have to order a set of cartoon people according to their height and then use the baseline button, which allows the selection to be checked and the heights read accurately from the vertical axis.
Three arrow heads can then be added to the graphic representation to indicate the position of the median, lower and upper quartiles.
The corresponding values of these measures can then be read from the graph.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment.
Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date.
Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work.
Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
