Close Encounters with Trees (Key Stage Two and Key Stage Three)
Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) resources look at the effects of climate change. This activity encourages students to make observations, record data and be aware of the links between weather and trees
Students work with their peers to collect data using drawings or photographs. They also
make notes about the weather and surroundings so they can refer back to this data at a later time. Ideally, the activity should be carried out at the end of summer (September) and then again in late spring or summer (June, July).
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
