The Life of Trees (Key Stage Two and Key Stage Three)
Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) have produced a series of resources looking at the consequences of climate change. In this activity, students investigate the functions and importance of trees.
Activities look at the functions of different parts of trees as well as the overall importance of trees. Students use view finders to observe two trees and carry out a number of small scale investigations. They then make comparisons and discuss their findings.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
