These resources are investigations into balance from BLOODHOUND SSC. They see how changing the position of the centre of gravity affects a body's stability.

The enquiry focuses on the 'topple bottle'. If a bottle is tilted it will topple when the centre of gravity is displaced outside where the bottle is in contact with the ground. The resource considers why the centre of gravity of a performance vehicle is kept as low as possible.

HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
