This resource from the Royal Academy of Engineering describes how the London Engineering Project worked to encourage students to see engineering as a potential career path. All activities used an Engineering Message to contextualise engineering and emphasise its impact on the world around us.

The project aimed to create a network for the delivery of activities in schools and to encourage students, especially those from under-represented groups, to take up university courses in STEM subjects.

All activities used a messages taken from the Engineering Messages poster to contextualise the subject. The resource describes the wide variety of activities that could be included and shows how using role models to promote engineering as a career could be very effective.

HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
