Engaging Mathematics 1
Engaging Mathematics 1, produced by the Mathematics Centre at the University of Chichester, first invites the reader to ask questions that relate to given situations. Mathematical growth often mirrors the questions and problems posed at the time. The reader is taken through some past developments in order to reflect on how aspects of mathematics are perceived by society past and present.
Developing engaging and relevant questions is emphasised throughout the booklet in a variety of contexts, history, the arts, everyday life, games and simulations, modelling mathematical situations and developing problems.
