This short booklet, from the Nuffield Mathematics Project, is for teachers of children from eleven upwards, whether in secondary or middle schools. It describes the aims of the Project as it affects these children, and so is complementary to the Introductory guide, I do and I understand, which explains the philosophy of the project with special reference to primary schools.

An accompanying film 'Into secondary school' was made for the project by British Petroleum. The film focused on two schools, Grass Royal in Yeovil and Elliott in London, and how they tackled the transfer to secondary school, each in quite different ways. (The film is not in the collection).

HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
