This activity, from Solar Spark, allows students to investigate light and the eye. A template is provided that students can colour to produce a Newton Wheel. White light is made up of lots of different colours and by spinning the colours on the disc, the eye combines the spinning colours and sees the disc as if it were white.

The resource can be used to illustrate:
• light and colour
• how the eye works

HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment. Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date. Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work. Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.

Hello Mary,

I'll contact the resource provider and I'll ask them for another copy of the resource together with the teacher's notes.

Regards,

Anna

This template is to make two discs, but the repeat instructions carry on the numbering. Poorly drawn disc.

There is no teacher guidance to explain how the activity 'illustrates how the eye works'.

Disappointing.
