Calculation Games for Students Aged 9-11
Published by BEAM these games and puzzles from Maths of the Month give students the opportunity to practise and consolidate their mathematical knowledge and understanding in an enjoyable and cooperative way.
The mathematical content of each games is:
• Dice wars - single digit multiplication
• Adding four numbers - single digit multiplication and double digit addition
• Add or subtract - addition to a multiple of 5
• Divide and rule - division using a calculator
• Doubles - doubling two digit numbers
• Four in a line - doubling and doubling again
• Guessing game - addition and subtraction with three digits
• KenKen - number puzzle
• Multiples of 5 - making multiples of 5
• Properties - even, odd, less than and multiples
• Reach 100 - addition and multiplication
• Square-numbers - squaring two digit numbers using a calculator
• Target - four rules of number
• Total 100 - addition with two digits
