Genetic Screening
Produced for the Debating Matters competition, this topic guide gives information, further reading and web links to help students understand the issues around the genetic screening of embryos. The issues at stake include the ability to prevent unnecessary suffering from diseases and concerns about the prospect of a society where even minor deviations from biological ‘normality’ are viewed as unacceptable.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment.
Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date.
Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work.
Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
