This activity from Cre8ate maths explores Platonic solids, which are formed from regular polygons where all their faces are identical and all their vertices are identical too. Students are told that there are only five platonic solids, which they can build using triangles, squares and pentagons.

Completing the Matching shapes names and properties task will be beneficial when playing the yes/no game, where a set of 15 crystal shape cards are provided and, by asking questions, the students establish the name of a pre-chosen shape. Because the answer to their questions can only be yes or no, students will learn to word their questions carefully, giving thoughtful consideration to the properties of the individual shapes.
