From the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), this cartoon booklet introduces particle physics, particle accelerators and the Large Hadron Collider.

This clear, concise and entertaining booklet explains what a particle accelerator such as the LHC is and the questions it is trying to answer, such as ‘why is there matter and not anti-matter?’ and ‘what is Dark Energy?’. The booklet also looks at the people and technology behind the project.

STFC is a part of the Research Councils UK (RCUK) partnership of research councils.

The bits about the people who work on the LHC are great, it shows students how the people working at the edge of physics are just like anyone else. This is good to download and pass digitally for students to access, expensive to print though locally. Maybe its my age but it isn't an easy read in terms of the range of fonts, sizes, layout.

KS4/5 would like it though.
