Northern India - Chulas
In this Planet Science resource, students learn about the use of traditional wood stoves, chulas, which are used by the poor in India and lead to health and environmental problems.
Students are asked to use scientific knowledge to assess the design of a new chula, discuss the difference between complete and incomplete combustion and plot graphs to investigate how efficient the chulas are in heating water.

Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work.
