CREST Awards Through Project-based Learning
By the British Science Association, the CREST awards help students to tackle science with an investigative approach. This case study describes how Charlton School gave Year Eight students a chance to undertake independent projects based on their individual enthusiasms.
Students worked towards a bronze CREST award and undertook a wide range of independent activities. These included a team who made a video documentary to explain the process of coastal erosion. The projects helped students develop communication skills, team working and encouraged cross-curricular collaboration.
