Bronze Award: Squeaky Clean
The British Science Association CREST Awards encourage students to take an investigative approach to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related projects. These resources are just a few ideas that could be used to help students gain an award.
These materials look at three possible projects that relate to household cleaning products:
• Communications project - students gather information about cleaning products, compare them and explain how they are suitable for different cleaning problems.
• Practical project - students investigate how well different cleaning products work.
• Research project - students compare different ways to tackle a cleaning problem and decide which cleaning products are really necessary in an average household.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment.
Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date.
Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work.
Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
