PDAs and Secondary Science
Produced by Becta, these case studies illustrate how information communication technology (ICT) can be used to enhance teaching and learning in science. This case study looks at use of PDAs during an A-level biology field study.
PDAs, also called 'handhelds' or 'palmtop PCs', are relatively cheap and robust, and can be used to give access to ict within school or outside it. Their portability makes them ideal tools for collecting data away from the classroom and integrating it into class work.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment.
Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date.
Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work.
Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
