Response to Stimuli
This resource from Defence Dynamics looks at how the human body responds to external stimuli and contains video clips which demonstrate the effects of high G-forces on the body.
The activities help students to consider the receptors which allow the body to detect external stimuli and the roles of sensory, relay and motor neurons in the processing of the information. Students also consider the differences and similarities between reflex and conscious actions.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment.
Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date.
Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work.
Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
