Key Stage One Exemplification Materials
This series of six leaflets from QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority) were produced to exemplify children’s performance in mathematics at levels 2A and 3. They illustrate how judgements of attainment could be made by taking into account strengths and weaknesses in performance across a range of contexts and over a period of time, rather than focusing on a single piece of work.
They also show how a child’s test result could be taken into account when making a judgement. The examples show work typical of the child’s performance across mathematics. They are followed by details of how the teacher uses the work to make a judgement about the child’s National Curriculum level.
