Place Value, Rounding, Estimation, Fractions, Percentages and Decimals.
This selection of spreadsheets, designed by the Primary National Strategies to aid teaching and learning, tackles place value, rounding, estimation, fractions, percentages and decimals, in a variety of ways.
Place value dots shows the visual representation of a chosen number up to 999, in hundreds, tens and units. The number can be hidden or revealed.
Place value charts and partitioning tool has a variety of sheets that can be used to show how to build up or partition a number from thousandths to thousands. It supports students understanding of place value. Teachers' guidance is included.
Facts and place value shows how one known fact can be used to determine other calculations. A multiplication sum is chosen and then a multiple and an equivalent division are calculated. All numbers can be hidden or revealed.
Rounding and Rounding decimals allow a number of a given size to be generated and a level of accuracy for the number to be rounded to. The rounded number can then be revealed.Teachers' guidance is included.
Estimation shows a number of stars in a rectangle to estimate. There are four sheets where the numbers of stars that can be selected are up to 15, up to 31, up to 63 or up to 127. The actual number of stars and the stars themselves can be hidden or revealed.
Fraction amounts problems shows how to calculate the fraction of an amount and the answer can be revealed. There are three real contexts in which to do calculations. The fraction and amounts can be varied.
Fraction percentage equivalents allows a fraction to be chosen by varying the numerator and denominator, the equivalent percentage can then be revealed.
Fractions has four parts. The first shows a number line with fractions, decimals and percentages, the values can be revealed or hidden. The second shows an amount at the end of a number line, the number can be split into tenths and the equivalent fraction, decimal or percentage revealed. The third shows a fraction wall. The fourth allows a fraction to be chosen and the calculation of finding an equivalent fraction can be revealed.
FDP converter allows a improper fraction, mixed number, decimal or percentage to be chosen and the equivalents can be revealed.
Calculate percentages has three parts on calculating percentages in different contexts. The first allows the prices of five objects in a sale to be set and then the reduction and sale price to be revealed. The second allows a percentage and amount to be either generated or input and the percentage of the amount to be calculated by breaking down the percentage. The third gives some percentages and amounts to select from and then the percentage of that amount can be revealed.
