Wood and Paper
The Ginn Science level five students’ book Wood and Paper was written for students in Year Five (Primary Six) aged 9 to 10 years, and published in 1990. It relates to the content strand Materials and their uses. With the help of full colour illustrations it gives information about the origin and uses of wood and paper. It draws attention to the importance of these materials in everyday life and at the same time warns of the danger of cutting down too many trees. It emphasises the need to recycle the products of wood. There are activities relating to the testing the properties of wood and paper.
