This series of Mini-Projects, from the Association for Science Education (ASE) aim to breathe life back into investigative work, for students aged 14-16 and their teachers. This resource is part of the SYCD: Science Year Can We; Should we? collection.

The resources were produced by the University of York Science Education Group (UYSEG).

The intention is to provide opportunities for linked practical investigation and reading research, which will allow students greater autonomy than the current model used for coursework assessment. The studies are open-ended, offering the possibility for various students or groups to follow different lines of enquiry. The Can we; Should we?themed mini-project is Brine Shrimps.
