Future Morph: Theatre Technician
In this Future Morph video Suresh Chawla talks about designing, building and moving stage scenery. Suresh explains how working in the theatre challenges him to solve design problems and build useable solutions. He describes how scenery must be light and strong before explaining how some pieces are moved with pulley and rope systems.
In the related activity, students explore the use of pulleys for moving heavy objects.
An associated resources booklet, which can be found in the Introduction to Future Morph Resources, organises the videos into themes, provides an overview of the teachers’ notes, describes practical activities and suggests cross-curricular links.
