Making Diamonds
This is one of the 18 Background Books published for Stage II of the Nuffield Chemistry Sample Scheme. The books were highly illustrated and designed to be attractive. This book describes the application of chemistry to extract and manufacture diamonds.
The book describes the manufacture of synthetic diamonds in the early 1960s and contrasts this with the methods used to extract natural diamonds. The book ends with a couple of examples of the industrial uses of diamonds.
The book was first published in 1965 and is now only of historical interest.
