Electromagnetic Induction
Produced by the National STEM Centre and the Institute of Physics, this video demonstrates the process of electromagnetic induction.
The video shows a simple piece of equipment that can readily be made which contains spinning magnets, a wire coil and a lamp. Spinning the magnets past the coil produces an electric current and lights the lamp.
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment.
Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date.
Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work.
Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.

Wonderful! When the magnetic flux changes, an EMF is induced; whose strength is directly proportional to the rate of change of magnetic flux linking the circuit! I'm getting my Physics and Engineering students to make this model!! Great!
