SATIS 16-19: Units 76-100
Units 76 to 100 of the SATIS 16-19 series. The introductory General Guide for teachers gives information on the design and use of the units, outlines of the unit subjects relating them to science specialisms.
Structure of the units
Each SATIS 16 - 19 unit was designed to be photocopied and published in four parts:
• Notes for guidance (for teachers)
• A study guide (for students)
• Information pages
• A commentary offering hints, answers or a review of issues raised (for students after completing the study tasks).
The inclusion of the commentaries and the separation of the study guides from information were designed to encourage self-directed learning.
Teaching methods
The units featured a very wide range of teaching and learning methods including case studies, data analysis, structured discussion, practical investigations, role-play, decision making, surveys, interviews and fieldwork.

HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment.
Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date.
Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work.
Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
