Activity Case Study 7: Caron Malone
This STEMNET activity case study describes the many activities that STEM Ambassador Caron Malone has been involved with. These include designing and making 'intelligent clothing' with primary school children, a Smart Energy workshop and careers day talks. Caron is particularly keen to involve more girls in STEM careers.
Caron has found that being a STEM Ambassador has helped develop her presentation and communication skills as well as giving her a chance to meet a variety of people.
“I can be a role model. I am female and I am young, so perhaps they can relate better to me than to the engineers they usually see.”
HEALTH and SAFETY
Any use of a resource that includes a practical activity must include a risk assessment.
Please note that collections may contain ARCHIVE resources, which were developed at a much earlier date.
Since that time there have been significant changes in the rules and guidance affecting laboratory practical work.
Further information is provided in our Health and Safety guidance.
