Engineering Week: Crash testing
Nationwide
19.08.2011
9.30am - 4.00pm
In this workshop, students will discover how engineers apply the laws of physics to protect people in car crashes, and learn about the main safety features in cars and how they relate to Newton's Laws of Motion, and will explore the human cost of car crashes.
First, they will get to witness a crash test with a model car and then work in teams to build their own model, applying what they have learnt in the workshop to design safety features to improve the car's performance.
The students will then get to crash test their models in a competition at the end of the day.
Suitable for 14-17 year-olds only.
Tickets are £20 standard / £10 Faraday Member.
