SCORE Annual Conference 2012 - What makes an effective teacher in the sciences?

Nationwide

19.03.2012

9.45am - 4.00pm

Venue: Royal Society

This year's conference aims to explore the characteristics of an effective teacher in the sciences with a view towards developing a greater understanding into how we can best attract, train and support these teachers throughout their professional career.

The SCORE annual conference will address some of the key themes and debates surrounding effective teaching in the sciences including:
• What does the term 'effective teacher in the sciences' mean and can it be captured?
• How do education systems measure effectiveness?
• Prior subject knowledge in the sciences; how important is it?
• How does current Government policy support effective teachers?

The SCORE annual conference is open to all organisations and individuals with an interest in science education.

The SCORE Annual Conference is free to attend. To reserve your free place, please use our guest booking system.

There is also some funding available for teachers currently employed by a school or college to help towards their travel expenses and supply cover.

The SCORE Annual Conference 2012 is currently fully subscribed. To ensure the balance of the event, we have a few available places that we have reserved for teachers who would like to attend. If you are not a teacher but would like to register for the event, we will place your name on the waiting list and inform you if a place becomes available. If you register, we will also ensure you receive a copy of the post conference report.
