National STEM Centre Saturday Opening
Nationwide, England (Yorkshire & the Humber)
16.06.2012
10am - 3pm
Keystage: Suitable for teachers of EYFS – post 16
Cost: FREE
You are welcome to arrive anytime between 10am – 3pm. There is no need to book.
Come along to explore inspirational ideas from the UK's largest collection of specialist subject teaching resources for science, design & technology, engineering and mathematics in schools colleges. Alongside comprehensive contemporary collections is an archive of curriculum support from the 1960s to date - including materials from Nuffield, SMILE, SEP, TEP and many others.
You are free to drop in and browse the resource collections, and for those who want to stay longer (perhaps gathering ideas for a new scheme of work?) there are plenty of work spaces, laptops to browse multimedia and online resources, and photocopying facilities - and free tea and coffee!
In addition to the library, National STEM Centre staff will be on hand to chat about other services, including:
o our online resource collections (the eLibrary), and the Teachers TV archive (PlaybackSchools)
o how schools and colleges are using online STEM Manager tools to plan whole-school approaches to STEM
o how ESERO-UK (the UK space education office) helps teachers use space to engage young people in science and mathematics
o how the Centre's online Community can support your networks
Please email enquiries@nationalstemcentre.org.uk if you have any queries.
