3.30pm - 5.30pm
- How are mathematics and science linked? And how can these subjects be joined together more closely in the school classroom?
- How can multiple representations help to improve students' understanding of mathematics?
- How can we help to make mathematics their favourite lesson?
- How can an investigative approach be employed to increase their pace of learning?
Most professions use number, algebra, geometry, calculus and statistics and many other mathematical tools. The aim of this workshop is to help teachers and parents / carers to support students studying mathematics and science.
The day will also feature an introduction to TI-Nspire's handheld technology.
The workshop will be led by Chris Olley, a tutor on the PGCE course at King's College London and freelance mathematics education consultant.
Venue: The Shirley High School, Croydon.
