IBM are hosting a one-day event which will provide secondary school teachers with an insight into how technology can be used to make the world a better place. Teachers will have the opportunity to hear about and discuss real life examples of technology combined with experienced IBM employees.

The day will include a series of case studies and resources which are freely available for teachers to use in their classrooms.

Themes will include:

- Technology innovations over the past 100 years
- Use of instrumented, intelligent and interconnected technology to improve life on Earth
- The use of technology to interpret human speech and analyse huge stores of information
- Examples of real life projects such as Wimbledon
- Resources available to teachers and how to use them
- Skills needed for for students to be successful in a career in IT
- An opportunity to meet and have discussions with IT professionals
