Marshall Aerospace and Airport Engineering Event
England (South East)
16.03.2011
This PDP event is designed to continue helping schools and partners develop a more effective knowledge of industry in the east region; in this case the engineering, design and aviation sectors. The event will include an overview of the history/work of Marshalls and an insight into the opportunities open to young people entering the engineering/design sectors. The afternoon will also include a fascinating tour of the Marshall Aerospace site and an opportunity to explore future school college links; with particular reference to supporting the 14 – 19 Diplomas.
Marshall Aerospace, Cambridge, is the UK’s leading independent aerospace contractor with a worldwide reputation for engineering excellence. Decades of experience in aircraft design, manufacture, maintenance, conversion, modification and logistic support are firmly backed up by a dedicated team of over 1,500 highly trained personnel and an exceptional range of facilities housed in 1.2 million square feet of hangar space. Based on its 800-acre site since 1937, Marshall Aerospace also operates as part of its own locally established and privately owned city airport.
