Mathematics teaching in change, an evening at the Institute of Education

The IOE and the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) invite you to join in a discussion following input from a panel of experts from the Institute: Professor Celia Hoyles, Dr Jenny Houssart, Professor Richard Noss and Professor Dave Pratt. They will base their short talks on evidence from research that:
- encompasses mathematics teaching and learning for all ages from primary, through secondary and into the workplace;
- responds to the challenge of change with new approaches to mathematics teaching, new topics that provide relevance and interest throughout STEM, and new forms of engagement with mathematics in the workplace.
Professor Chris Husbands, the new Director of the Institute of Education will open the evening, which begins at 5pm for 5.15pm on 22 March 2011. The discussion will be chaired by Dr Candia Morgan, and will continue until 6.45pm when wine and light refreshments will be available.
